With fly fishing, it is sometimes all about the chase. Heres a day trip that looked unfruitful, but turned out okay ultimately.

Co Travel Fishing

We set the host in on a hot morning in Sept. With out a cloud in sight. Because a hot sunny day has a tendency to put the fish down, at least on this stretch of the Colorado, my expectations weren't high. I go straight for tandem streamers; there than a big pissed off brown pursuing your streamer off the bank in short fast moving water is nothing more interesting, once the fish arent growing. Dredging underneath with a nymph just doesnt do it for me. If I break out a nymphn rig, I must have exhausted all the options.

A bleak outlook is put by the first quarter mile of water on the residual 9 house of river before us, not a single pursuit through a number of the high quality water on this stretch!! My invited guest on board had no knowledge throwing huge uncomfortable combination streamer platform, and was fairly frustrated after almost throwing his neck out with just a handful of well-placed casts. I always speak of the interesting chases, but now; he must think I am packed with it. I now know the disappointment that guides must endure while seeing miles of quality water go by with out a singe well placed or entirely untouched. There is probably a pleasant fish it that pocket we just passed, came out of my mouth quite a few times than I care to recall.

About 3 miles into our float, that is exactly what it had become, a sightseeing float, the current weather begun to change. Here came the clouds, an encouraging sign, of course unless the wind comes with it. Here arrived the wind, and next thing you know, our beautiful sightseeing flow changed into a back rowing battle to help keep the ship going downstream. Fortuitously, this didn't last long, but the water did begin to fall.

In just a few minuets following the water subsided, the mayflies were crowding and the fish were rising. Were eddied out in many primary areas and started to catch fish in the swirling foam. Just about any well-placed throw was recognized. More than half of your day was gone and time passed unnoticed, until suddenly I know that we had just moved half way to our remove. Hammering the shifting water with the streamers and pushing through the slack water was now becoming very effective. Finally, I could prove to my visitor how interesting the chase could be. It would appear that every other throw developed an extreme brown, either territorial or just plain hungry.

We arrived a few good fish while powering through the final stretch, arriving at last light. A turn in the weather sure may turn on the fish and bring on the pursuit. rosacea natural treatment chat
