Ive done some experiments in the last month or two about expiring domains with PR to see if it's worth your while to find these expired and deleted domains.

My idea why I'd want to use expired domains may be the notion that old domains are desired than new domains, and to have instant PR.

So I attempted to find deleted domains with PR that I can register. One feature of domains I was trying to find was that the site still had a, and it was still listed in google.

I won't be mentioning the particular domains here as I need to control the outcomes and stop folks from building backlinks to these domains.

I listed about 4 areas, some have PR2 and PR3. Some have a few pages found, some have a few thousand. I also bought several new areas for my new jobs. open in a new browser

I found out that google rarely visits these areas so I want to perfect it but with some fresh backlinks. After creating some backlinks to these domains, two domains ultimately lost their PR. Both of these domains have just a few pages indexed in google. In one area, I did so a 301 permanent direct to the newest index page. That area kept its PR. One crucial difference this domain has set alongside the other two is that this domain has thousands of pages listed in google.

In another domain, used to do a 301 and direct it to a fresh new domain. The result is that the new domain got indexed quicker and more pages were indexed when compared with another new domain I registered at the same time. But, PR was down seriously to 0.

There's also a case where I did so a 301 direct from an old deleted website with PR and never got any benefit from it.

To conclude, there is still inconsistent effects on whether getting deleted/expired domains. Some works, some don't. Nevertheless, what seem to work is that

a. Traffic does be contained by old delete domains from existing backlinks. If the old area has a lot of backlinks, some traffic does be still generated by it.

b. Other se's such as bing and yahoo don't seem to have an biases against expired/deleted areas.
