Amway Review

Before I recieve into this overview of Amway let me introduce myself. I'm Ben Biel and i have been involved with the network marketing niche for over 20 years. My summer vacations were spent at network marketing conventions as a kid and my parents happen to be involved in over 20 different companies. I've had a love - hate relationship with this industry which, I think, gives me the ability to provide a balanced outlook during the businesses I review. I use an easy pro/con method of evaluating that is in no way exhaustive and can hopefully enable you to confirm any research you've already done on Amway.

Amway Corporate Pros and Cons

Pros- Amway may be the oldest and largest multilevel marketing company in the world and does over $9 billion in annual sales. If you decide to build a business with Amway you can be certain that the company isn't going to file chapter 11 and destroy all your effort.

Cons- Amway's reputation. Almost everyone has heard of Amway and those who haven't will certainly have somebody in life you'll gladly offer their opinion. In certain respects Amway has earned it's bad reputation due to it's cloak and dagger marketing strategies but on the other hand most people having a real bad opinion of them think it's a "pyramid scheme" which gives away their ignorance.

Amway Product Pros and Cons

Pros- Amway includes a a lot of different products including supplements, cleaning products and cosmetics. All of their goods are well-crafted and would likely rank within the top ten for each from the products they offer with many in the top 3. For example you'd be hard pressed to locate a better laundry soap than SA8 and it is considered a higher efficiency, concentrated and green and it's been in the marketplace for decades.

Cons- Even though the goods are top quality many of them are overpriced. Even if they aren't overpriced (i.e. the quality of the product justifies the higher price) it is difficult to convince people who they ought to switch catalog shopping product which they accustomed to buy in the grocery store or Wal-Mart for half the cost. There's also a ton of competition. 90% of the other network marketing companies out there have items that contend with a number of of Amway's products, often in a more appealing price.

Amway Business Benefits and drawbacks.

Pros- The primary pro to doing the Amway business is it's commitment to self improvement. The amount of mentorship is incredibly high plus they focus a great deal on building community and support for it's Independent Business Operators. Another pro is the profit sharing which is huge but you need to be diamond jewelry before you decide to qualify which less than 1% of IBO's do.

Cons- All the self improvement costs a fortune. Most people I understand who've started an Amway business quit simply because they couldn't pay the personal development. They amount of product you have to personally consume or sell is another deterrent, over $500/mo.

Another con is it's marketing approach. People are trained not to tell people it's Amway and frequently told to lie if someone asks if it's Amway. This tactic leads to mistrust and resentment and adds to Amway's poor reputation. Their marketing plan is not updated in over 21 years. I discovered an old Amway strategic business plan in my Dad's office from 1989 and it had the exact same plan that the friend of mine pitched in my experience as he tried to get me to join his Amway business in early 2010. Most of it was word for word. They have not changed almost anything to new technology, the web or social networking.

Amway's comp plan highly favors the top earners and provide a great platform for brand new individuals to make money quickly. Dollar for dollar most other companies do far better. For example my fiend in Amway has an organization that does about $120,000/mo in sales and that he earns about $1500/mo. I've friends inside a different company which do $60,000/mo in sales for their whole team plus they earn about $3,000/mo. That's a 400% difference.

Amway Review Conclusion

Amway is a superb company that helps many people. Everyone in this industry owes a great deal to them for blazing the trail for all the other great firms that followed within their footsteps. That being said I believe time for making big money with Amway has ended. There are numerous good networking companies with comparable products and compensation plans it would be easier to build a business with. Now, people who're enthusiastic about Amway's products or business it may still be done. I know of a guy who's sponsoring 10 people a week into his Amway business but he is not following the corporate business model whatsoever. He makes use of purchased phone leads and calls over 300 people a day!
