In this section we shall attempt to explain the difference between the unvoiced consonants and the voiced consonants.

The sounds of the English words /k/ (sometimes "c") and /g/

It is not merely the sounds /p/ and /b/ that are voiced or unvoiced. The exact same difference holds for the sounds represented by the words "k" b "g" in the International Phonetic Alphabet.
