When you initially begin a network marketing business you're told "This Isn't Sales". We're not selling, we're sharing. Your training is dependant on a lie by your upline, who was taught by their upline.

This "lie" has likely caused you a lot of unnecessary disappointment and frustration inside your MLM prospecting efforts.

These 3 main theories make up this idea:

1. Your friends or family probably make use of this product anyway, why wouldn't they purchase it from you? They are fully aware you and they trust you.

2. Our product helps people. You are doing them a disservice if you don't share with them the benefits they can get out of this product. They will be glad you showed them the merchandise and purchase it of your stuff.

3. You're just sharing product testimonials, and recommending a product. You recommend products for your friends. You aren't changing anything, just receiving payment that which you deserve.

Many people fear so much even considering being anywhere near sales, much less be in sales themselves. In fact for some, sales is a borderline phobia.

Most people are in sales. You may not maintain sales on the commercial level, also it might not be your profession, but you sell people on a daily basis.

You sold your parents they should give you a certain birthday gift, an allowance, or allow you to go to the movie you wanted to go see. You sell yourself to obtain a job. You sell your manager that you should get a raise at work, or time off.

So the truth is many of us are in sales - every minute of every day. So relax, you can do it.

Here is the fundamental distinction between selling and sharing: Selling you have something to achieve and sharing you've got no monetary interest or nothing to gain.

After all, they're your friends and family... shouldn't they would like to give you their business? Maybe, but most people don't have enough friends and family to build a successful Multilevel marketing business.

The fact is expecting your friends and family to buy of your stuff solely since they're your friends and family will lead you down the deep, dark road of lost friends and avoidance lined by Network Marketers who went down exactly the same path.

The thing is, multilevel marketing is made on the premise that sharing product experiences and recommendations is the most powerful type of marketing.

Consider this: Do you consider that you could reasonably make a 6-figure residual income off of the people you know?

Simply to be generous, if between friends and family you are in a "sharing" relationship with MAYBE 100 people. That will mean EVERY PERSON in your circle of influence would need to enter your chance - and not only just get in, but dominate the company and do what you did.

But wait - your loved ones has got the same family you need to do! So now what??

The thing is that you simply cannot aspire to produce a large income just off of family and friends, despite what your traditional multilevel marketing training would have you believe. Local business owners pricier to keep their businesses simply by their family and friends using their products/services. If you still believe your family and friends are sufficient to build a sizable income using your opportunity, perhaps you should have a hint from their store...

With that in your mind, we've just exposed a MUCH bigger problem with MLM: If this is not sales, and is simply sharing, then when you exhaust your sharing circle, where do you turn next?

The simple truth is many people hate sales. Therefore if Network Marketing was pitched for exactly what it is - sales - it wouldn't be an everyman's business anymore, would it? And even worse, your upline would then need to teach - ah, oh, here you go - actual sales strategies in their multilevel marketing training.
